Pastor Michael Padgett began his public ministry when preaching his first sermon on January 23, 1986 in Muncie, Indiana at the age of 14. After evangelizing while finishing high school and attending college, Rev. Padgett moved to Middlesboro, Kentucky in the summer of 1991. He spent one year working with the youth of our church and serving as Supervisor of Fonde Christian Academy. He was elected pastor of the Middlesboro Church of God Mountain Assembly in July 1992. In October of that same year, he was married to Dedra Partin, a lifelong member of our congregation. The Padgett’s have three children—Carissa 12, Lauren 10, and Andrew 6.
